BAPTIST MEN’S MINISTRY

Baptist on Mission, Wallace NC

We (Poston Ramp Crew) believe that by reaching out with our willingness, skills, and ability to be the Hands and Feet for Jesus, we not only help someone in need but at the same time grow in our relationships with each other. We come away from the completed ramp with a sincere heartfelt accomplishment knowing we have helped increase a person's Quality of Life. To God be the Glory!

Wheelchair Ramp Ministry
The handicap wheelchair ramp ministry allows easier access and increased mobility for those with disabilities. We do not usually think twice when we enter and exit our homes, but for those who are wheelchair-bound, it could be a tedious task. Our Poston Baptist Church's wheelchair ramp ministry works mostly through "Charity Rebuild Center, Rose Hill NC" to allow easier access and increased mobility for those with disabilities.

Men's Prayer Breakfast

The Poston Baptist Church Men's Prayer Breakfast meets the first Sunday of every month in Coley Hall at 7:00 AM. We fellowship, enjoy breakfast, and share testimonies, and prayer requests along with a short devotional. It's to bring men of all ages together to strengthen relationships and to reach out to our friends, family, and community with the message of God's love. The men of Poston and the community are invited and asked to bring their son, their son's friends, and neighbors. Come on out to the Men's Prayer Breakfast, you'll be glad you did. God Bless you!

No matter what the circumstances, grief is a painful, confusing process. A Grief Share group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. At this 13-week support group program, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way. You can sign up for this first Grief Share Group by going online to griefshare.com clicking on Find a Group and picking the Poston Baptist Group or you can contact Charlie/Penny Blanchard to apply. Call us at 910-285-3363 or 910-284-3080.

SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY

Night to Shine

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. Night to Shine values, honors, and supports honored guests and their families through a prom, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs held simultaneously around the world on the Friday before Valentine’s Day each year. Night to Shine has become a catalyst for additional programming intentionally designed to create year-round impact and true life change in communities.

Let's Go Down By The River

"Let's Go Down By The River" Is an annual outreach ministry hosted by Dwayne Peterson and family and supported by the Poston Baptist Church Special Needs Ministries. It is an event for special needs community members and their families to gather down by the river and enjoy God's creation. This fun-filled outreach features a cookout, boat rides, UTV rides, and water play with lots of food and fellowship. Prayer requests and prayer time is also a component of this outing. This allows these families to share their needs and receive prayer from our ministry team. It is a wonderful way to share God's love with these families in a casual setting.

WMU & WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

Daughters of Christ

Our ministry is dedicated to serving women who are daughters of Jesus Christ.

We believe that every woman is a precious daughter of God, and we are

committed to helping women grow in their spiritual journey and be bold

in their faith. We have multiple gatherings annually that spotlight women

speakers who share their testimonies. This helps support all women in life's

struggles as we pray and fellowship with one another to help support and

encourage each other in our faith. If you're looking for a place to belong and

grow in your relationship with God, we invite you to join us. We welcome women

of all ages and backgrounds, and we would love to get to know you!

Baskets for Shut-ins

Several times a year the WMU will show the love of Jesus by preparing baskets for those who cannot get out of their rooms or houses, especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s such a simple act with a big impact that touches the hearts of these special loved ones.

Dayspring Birthdays

Once a month a group of WMU ladies will take a birthday cake and ice cream to celebrate every person’s birthday for the month at the Dayspring in Wallace. It is a sweet time of fellowship with these gentle souls and for some people, it’s the only contact with outside visitors that they will see. It’s a very special ministry.
